WE MET AT SUNRISE FOR THEIR VOWS ON GLACIER POINT, WITH HALF DOME AS THEIR WITNESS. THEN, WE CELEBRATED THE EVENING AWAY WITH A GLOWING SUNSET AT TAFT POINT! THIS YOSEMITE ELOPEMENT WAS THE DREAMIEST!
Oh, where to begin on this day. Well, a quick back up… I’m pretty sure my first email back to Chris & Dani said something like… “I just wanna be best friends already!!!” We clicked right away! They trusted me as a photographer from the beginning and invited me on the crazy journey of their elopement in Yosemite. I mean how could you not love someone who says.. “We are outdoorsy urbanites. We love going out together, whether its to concerts, restaurants, hiking, shows, bars, social events. On the flipside of that we couldn't be happier ordering pizza, putting on some vinyl, playing a board game and just chilling in our home.” Done. Sold. Instant friends.
Elopements are something super special though, they’re so intimate and sacred. They’re full of quiet spaces, just your voices and the wind. It’s a big deal to invite another person into that space, and I’ll never have the full words to say how grateful I am that they invited me to capture those moments and feelings. From vows as the sun peaked over half dome, to belting Wonderwall by Oasis over the valley, dancing around with her BADASS cape, all the way to champagne cheers on Taft Point as the sun dipped down (lighting the whole Yosemite valley with a golden glow)!
It was truly and incredibly intimate and beautiful day! If you’re thinking of eloping and don’t know where to start, send me a message! I’d love to help you plan your special time, and dream up what space fits you two best!
PS – Dani & Chris were a lil’ scared of heights, so this is proof you don’t have to stand on the very edge of cliffs to get epic pics! ;)
HOWEVER. My husband, Josiah, wanted that cliff-edge pic, so I did it just for him. Scroll ALL the way down to see our last day hike to Taft Point!

Josiah also created a film of their day — it’s beautiful and precious!
After a gorgeous sunrise elopement ceremony, we all took the rest of the day to explore (and nap a little hehe) before meeting up at Taft Point for some badass “reception” pics at sunset!
Josiah and I just had to hike up to Taft Point one more time before driving home! So, this is the result of our last evening in Yosemite National Park!
MY 3 TIPS FROM THE DAY…
I. PICK YOUR SPACE. Elopements, vows, promises… they can be done anywhere. I always want to capture the “where” for you, because I know it’s chosen for a reason. If you want help with figuring that out, reach out, I’d love to help you figure out what space is perfect for you two.
II. MUSIC. These two brought their little JBL speaker to their intimate ceremony, they made a special playlist, full of songs that were more like memories to them. It made the quiet morning more sacred. If you love music, bring it. Make a playlist that you can listen to years down the road and feel those same feelings.
III. ADD-ONS. Who said elopements just had to be one outfit? ;) ;) ;) If you want to bring some fun add-ons for post-ceremony pics, DO IT. Not only did Dani rock a gorgeous cape during the elopement, she also brought some badass accessories for our sunset photo sesh. Leather jacket, sun glasses, a cool hat… bring your vibe to add some flare to pics later on!
