We drank wine, ate cheese, shared stories, laughed WAY too hard (if that’s a thing), and enjoyed the evening in their beautiful Portland home together!
I’ll never truly have words to express how grateful I am for the couples who invite me whole heartedly into their lives and stories. I can’t believe that I get to be a part of so many incredible moments and witness such beautiful relationships unfold! And, this evening shooting a little in home engagement session was definitely one of those times!!
Emily & Johnny welcomed me (with opened arms and hearts) into their lovely Portland home one summer evening for their engagement photos! They poured my champagne and we all drank and ate together in their beautiful mid-century modern dining room. We chatted and enjoyed stories and laughter as the sun sank to create the perfect evening glow! Their entire home felt like an homage to their story and journey – full of collected books, decorations, and artwork – I wandered around and soaked up all the little things that made them THEM.
Then, we started all the giddy goodness of photos (the champagne buzz helped a little bit haha)! We explored their adorable home and made sure to get all the snuggles in every little corner! But, my favorite thing about the whole time: it just felt like life. Sure, maybe they don’t sit by the window and drink rose every evening, but everything about the feelings and the little interactions felt so real and honest. The two words that make my heart full.
There’s something about capturing love in a sacred space shared between the two of you. It was beyond and honor to be invited and brought into your home AND your story!! CANNOT wait for your beautiful wedding day!!!
